EC-Council Certified Network Defender (ECND)

EC-Council Certified Network Defender (ECND)

Description of Course

With a focus on the Administrators of Network, the program of Certified Network Defender (CND) certification helps them to respond to the Networks threat better. The program trains such administrators to respond to the detected threats faster and in a controlled manner. The traffic, network topology, security policy, network components, etc are some familiarized components to the Network administrators.

With a certification in the Certified Network Defender program, the administrators get the fundamental understanding of data transfer construct, technologies used in software, etc, construct and helps to understand the network system operation. It also helps in subject material analyzation with a clear understanding of the automating software. Some additional sections covered within the Certified Network Defender Certification are secure IDS, Firewall configuration, fundamentals of Network defense, Network Security control application, scanning vulnerability, etc. It helps the Administrators of Network for better designing of the policies and response plans for successful network run.

National Initiative of Cybersecurity Education, has presented the Network Administrators with CND program. It is based upon the skills and is considered to be an intensive lab program. Job-task analysis and framework of Cybersecurity Education, this is what forms the base of the CND program which is meant for better-securitized threat detection and control.

CERTIFIED NETWORK DEFENDER PROGRAM

Damaging around the finance of an organization, the cyber-attacks are showcasing reputation damage in an increased manner. Today the damage from the same is to be concerned more than before as such breaches overhaul the mechanism of defense, easily. The security gets compromised even with proper protection and response by the trained network engineers. The protection level is being compromised to a larger extent which possibly is getting difficult to be measured today.

Components of a network like performance or the topology, traffic, security policies, etc. receive concerned time by the Network administrators but still there seems to be not much affected over the control system being laid upon. So, it becomes extremely necessary to defend the organizations from vicious attacks by getting well equipped with skills for network security. IT department has a very significant role to play in the defense of the security of network and better defense of the organization.

To improve the security skills over the network, proper training is required for tactical handling of a network security system but on today’s date, no such training exists out there for the protection of the organization’s security system. But with the help of CND certification program, the administrators herein will learn better and will gain the ability to make the same implement in real-life experiences. An understanding of such a system will give in-depth technical help for the active designing of a secured network.

A proper understanding as to network operation, software automation and it’s analyzing, network technologies, etc, all get a proper understanding with time over such constructive program meant for network security system.

From detection to response over the protocols of the network, all will receive an in-depth idea and understanding. Proper learning over-application of security system, the firewall configuration, protocols, traffic, etc, a complete idea of fundamental scanning over such vulnerable and important parts of an organization, with measures to respond successfully, will become a part of such program. By every means, there will be fewer chances of attacks during the continuity of the operation, as the skills will make the administrators resilient and better.

Certified Network Defender (CND) is a vendor-neutral, hands-on, instructor-led comprehensive network security certification training program. It is a skills-based, lab intensive program based on a job-task analysis and cybersecurity education framework presented by the National Initiative of Cybersecurity Education (NICE). The course has also been mapped to global job roles and responsibilities and the Department of Defense (DoD) job roles for system/network administrators. The course is designed and developed after extensive market research and surveys.

The program prepares network administrators on network security technologies and operations to attain Defense-in-Depth network security preparedness. It covers the protect, detect and respond approach to network security. The course contains hands-on labs, based on major network security tools and techniques which will provide network administrators real world expertise on current network security technologies and operations. The study-kit provides you with over 10 GB of network security best practices, assessments and protection tools. The kit also contains templates for various network policies and a large number of white papers for additional learning.

Exam title: CND
Exam code: 312-38
Number of questions: 100
Duration: 4 Hours
Availability: ECC Exam
Test Format: Interactive Multiple Choice Questions

In order to maintain the high integrity of our certifications exams, EC-Council Exams are provided in multiple forms (I.e. different question banks). Each form is carefully analyzed through beta testing with an appropriate sample group under the purview of a committee of subject matter experts that ensure that each of our exams not only has academic rigor but also has “real world” applicability. We also have a process to determine the difficulty rating of each question. The individual rating then contributes to an overall “Cut Score” for each exam form. To ensure each form has equal assessment standards, cut scores are set on a “per exam form” basis. Depending on which exam form is challenged, cut scores can range from 60% to 85%.
